Why does everyone kiss this guy's ***?

There is this guy at school that goes around being sad all day and wallowing in self pity. He goes around going "oh woe is me, I cannot get a girlfriend" and whenever he does this, people just kiss his *** and it makes me sick. I see the guys pat him on the shoulder and have long talks with him, and the girls sometimes just hover around him for 10 minutes and then they leave. Really, what the hell is this ****? Why does this guy do this, and why do people kiss his *** like this?
